Peter Hockless

Peter is a senior corporate and finance lawyer with a career spanning over 25 years as a partner in two leading international law firms, Allen & Overy LLP (“A&O”) and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP (“Debevoise”).

He qualified as a solicitor in 1981 with A&O and, having been on secondment to Chase Manhattan Loan Syndications and A&O’s Dubai office, was made a partner in 1988. In 1989, he started up A&O’s Paris office and spent over seven years in Paris growing the practice to more than 100 lawyers.

In 2003, Peter joined Debevoise as a senior partner in their London office to lead their English–law Finance Practice and spent over 12 years developing and growing that practice in London and Europe. He also acted as partner in charge of marketing and business development activities in the London office for many years.  In 2015, Peter became 'of Counsel' at Debevoise.

Peter’s extensive knowledge of professional services firms, along with his proven ability and experience in developing and growing practices and businesses in that sector, make him a valuable addition to the Advisory Board of London Wall Partners, in particular in the area of marketing and business development.

Peter read French, German and Law at St John’s College, Cambridge and outside of work enjoys playing golf and travelling.
